BRAMSHOTT became a scene of destruction on Saturday afternoon when a serious crash blocked the northbound slip road of the A3.

The collision happened at 4.35pm and involved a white Nissan Skyline and a black Land Rover Discovery.

The driver of the Nissan, a 21-year-old man from Alton, was taken by ambulance to hospital as a precaution after suffering minor injuries.

The driver of the Land Rover Discovery, a 66-year-old woman from Haslemere, also suffered minor injuries.

Bramshott man Mike Glass was out walking nearby when he heard the crash. He rushed to the scene and alerted the emergency services.

He said: "A white sports car had left the A3, at the northbound slip road, and slid around the bend, uphill, smashing into a Land Rover coming from the other direction.

"Both cars were a write off, and the sports car was almost cut in two.

"The occupants of Land Rover were very shaken, and the sports car driver had lacerations and a broken nose. He was lucky to be alive from all accounts."
