LIPHOOK Scouts have begun their annual Christmas card postal service.

Post boxes are located at Gables Newsagents in the Square, Sainsbury’s Store, Midhurst Road, the Co-op in Headley Road, RedLoxx Hairdressers in Haslemere Road, Countrywide Store, Station Road, Hiscocks Pet Shop, Midhurst Road, Passfield Store, Headley Road and The Deers Hut off Longmoor Road.

The scheme began on Saturday and will end on Saturday, December 16. Each card costs 25p – stamps can be purchased from Gables Newsagents – and they can then be dropped into the boxes. The Scouts will start deliveries in Liphook, Bramshott, Conford and Passfield, on Sunday, December 17. This year’s stamps have been designed by the Cub Scouts, including George Boosey, Daniel Heard, Eden Malenchini, Oliver McIntyre, George Smith, Katie Reynolds and Leo Zabell

Liphook Scouts have been running a Christmas card delivery service since 1989, providing a useful service for local residents and raising much-needed funds for the upkeep of the group’s headquarters as well as fund equipment to allow the 200-plus youth members involved in the group undertake exciting activities like canoeing, archery, climbing and camping.

A spokesman for the Scouts team told The Herald: “We’re looking forward to delivering lots of cards again this December. Last year we sorted and posted nearly 2,000 cards, raising more than £500 in the process.”
