LIPHOOK infant and junior schools did their bit for Children in Need by holding a spots or stripes themed mufti-day, raising £700 for the charity as the BBC’s annual appeal raised a record £46m.
Staff and children were invited to join in the fun in return for a donation to the event and a cake sale was held to raise further funds.
Liphook juniors headteacher Michele Frost said: “It is so important the children at our schools think about other children who may need the support of the projects funded by the Children in Need charity.
“This day comes at the end of Friendship Week at our school and we have been thinking about what makes a good friend and how we can be better friends.

Churcher’s College Junior School in Liphook raised almost £400 by wearing an array of spotty outfits last Friday.
A splashing time was had by one and all at Midhurst Rother College as students and staff joined in the merriment.
As well as a sponsored non-uniform day last Friday, students were also given the opportunity to ‘Soak The Teacher’, during lunchtime last Thursday, which helped swell the total raised by the college to more than £1,000.
But it was not only the teachers who were targets. Head girl Erin Collins got a soaking, while terrified teacher Heide Evans waited her turn.
