STRIKING teachers have forced a school into a temporary partial closure today.
According to head teacher Neil Strowger, pupils in years eight, nine and 10 at Bohunt school were expected to have had an extra day off while year 11 will have "an alternative programme for the day".
"The decision to close the school or send students home is never taken lightly and neither the governing body – nor I as the headteacher – are legally allowed to close the school 'in sympathy' with the strike and we will not do so.
"However, the unions have indicated a significant number of our teaching staff will be taking part in this one-day action. Under those circumstances, I have no choice but to consider alternative arrangements for that day."
