CHILDREN at Brookham managed to raise a phenomenal £43,710 for orphans in Nyumbani Village in Kenya over the last year.

Headteacher Diane Gardiner and Brookham's head boy and girl presented Mr Elms from Hothouse Courses Nyumbani Village with a cheque at a school assembly. Pupils held sponsored swimming events, sweetie sales and an Easter egg raffle.

Staff and parents also joined in the fundraising with a Christmas raffle and charity dinner.
