Make it a double: That’s the order from the Liss Triangle Centre as the venue gears up for its biggest fundraising event of the year.
It’ll be all hands to the pumps next weekend as the Liss Beer and Music Festival returns with its crowd-pleasing mix of local ales, cider and live music.
There will also be children’s entertainment while the scouts will fire up the BBQ to feed hungry drinkers.
This year’s festival is taking place over two days with sessions from 2pm to 11pm next Saturday (August 29) and from midday to 3pm on Sunday.
And drinkers will also be doing their bit for the venue, as proceeds from the annual event will go towards replacing windows at the popular community centre.
“We are splitting the festival over two days as it worked really well last year,” said centre manager, Karen Feeney.
“All the ales we’re going to have on tap are local with some coming over from the Isle of Wight and another from just up the road in Sheet.
“The Scouts will once again be raising funds for themselves by running a BBQ for us and we have a children’s entertainer this year, too.”
She added: “The Beer and Music Festival promises to be another fantastic community event and we look forward to seeing everybody.”
Village favourites, the award-winning Liss Band will be the first act to perform on Saturday with Eddie & The Pacemakers, Call Me Ishmael and Morning Crescent following at 4.30pm. 6.30pm and 8.30pm, respectively.
Children’s entertainers, Nikki & Charlie, will show off their skills between 4pm and 6pm on Saturday while the Kings Pond Shantymen will be the 1pm performers on Sunday.
Ticket prices range from £7 to £10, for more information visit https://www.liss-triangle-centre.org.uk/ or call 01720 301000.
