POLICE have issued a warning after a 74-year-old woman from Liphook was targeted by rogue traders who charged her £13000 for minor repair work.

The work was carried out some time between August and October at a house on Headley Road. The workmen are known as Al and Roy.

Pc Matt Smith said: "These traders have targeted a vulnerable member of the community and have charged excessively high sums of money for minor repair work.

"This is a particularly callous and despicable crime that affects vulnerable people in the place they should feel safest – their own homes.

"Remain vigilant and keep an eye on your elderly or vulnerable neighbours and relatives to ensure they do not fall victim to this type of crime. If you see anything suspicious please contact us."
