THE Deer’s Hut pub is gearing up for its 30th Classic Car Day.
All roads will lead to the Griggs Green pub, off Longmoor Road, where hundreds of classic and vintage cars will be on show on Father’s Day (June 19).
Deborah Steel, landlady of The Deer’s Hut, said: “The great thing about our classic car day is, that no pre-brooking is required and it is open to all car enthusiasts.
“Just turn up on the day. Entry is free with all donations going to local groups and charities in particular the Scouts and Guides and the carnival committee.
“People love to admire the wonderful cross section of vintage cars the event has featured over the last 30 years – from stylish Bugatti’s to classic VW camper vans and are able to reminisce of days gone by.
“Traffic will be heavy on the Longmoor Road on the day and motorists patience is very much appreciated for this annual charity event. Just follow the signs for free parking.”
Other attractions include a real ale pavilion, delicious burgers cooked by the Scouts and Guides and live music from East Hampshire-based band Let The Good Times Roll, as well as vintage fairground rides from Hollycombe Steam.
Prizes are sponsored by local estate agents Clarke Gammon Wellers for the best turned out and eye catching vehicles. For more details, visit thedeershutpub.co.uk.
