AS rain continued to fall on sodden ground, causing widespread flooding in many areas over the festive period, a report into a last June's floods has been released by West Sussex County Council.
It said publicly owned drainage systems should be maintained and upgraded where there is a clear deficiency, but adds last summer's weather was so "extreme" that even well designed and maintained systems failed to cope with the sheer volume of water.
