LIPHOOK’S dog show and duck race in Radford Park raised £685 towards the children’s learning environment.

The event, organised by Friends of Liphook Junior School, was-well attended, despite continuous downpours and organiser Jodie Tiller told The Herald: “It was lovely to see so many people come out and join us, which just goes to show what a fantastic community spirit we have here, even in the pouring rain.

“A huge thank-you to everyone who came along and supported us and to all the helpers.”

A total of 300 plastic ducks were cheered on excitedly as they raced down the River Wey in various heats, with the final race won by Marnie.

Winners of all dog show categories were entered into the final competition, where Harriet and her dog Nellie won Best in Show.

Supporting the event were Kiri from Paws in the Pink, who judged the dog show, with Small World Pet Centre donating prizes and Hidden Seasons providing a tent to house games for the children away from the rain.
