BBC consumer champion Anne Robinson has had her detractors since leaving Watchdog to host the Weakest Link quiz show, which has earned her millions of pounds on either side of the Atlantic.

But the Queen of Mean, who has returned to her roots and is back at the helm of Watchdog is the toast of Liphook after sorting out mobile phone giants 02 – who agreed to cough up £1,000 for next week's Carnival, and gave a fulsome apology to East Hampshire residents.
