SOUTH West Train services to Waterloo were delayed by up to two hours on Monday evening due to a “major power supply issue”.
Services continued to be delayed by up to an hour until Tuesday evening and no trains ran between Haslemere and Havant, including Petersfield, from noon on Tuesday until after 3pm.
A replacement bus service ran between Guildford and Havant, and Haslemere and Havant, as engineers worked to fix the fault with the signalling that had caused the problems.
A South West Trains spokesman said on Tuesday: “A major signalling power supply issue yesterday evening affected a large number of our services until the end of service last night, particularly between Guildford and Haslemere.
“Our engineers are still working to resolve these ongoing issues, however some morning services will be affected between Havant and Haslemere in both directions.
“The signalling problem means that fewer trains than normal will be able to run between Havant and Haslemere, and we have had to divert a number of services via Eastleigh this morning.
“Some of our fast services between Havant and Guildford will make additional stops in their journey to provide a service to stations affected by trains that have been diverted.”
“A limited replacement bus service has been arranged between Guildford and Havant, and these will be running to support the train service from 7.30am,” the spokesman added.
