THE names have been released of the three pensioners killed following a two-car crash in Lasham last Saturday.

Heidi Eyre, 77, of Coval Gardens, London, was a backseat passenger in a Honda which was in collision with a Hyundai around 1.40pm on the A339 at the junction with Station Road and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her husband, Patrick Eyre, 80, also of Coval Gardens, London, was also a backseat passenger in the Honda. He died at Southampton General Hospital a short time later.

And Robert Beresford, 90, of Trinity Hill, Alton, who was the front seat passenger of the Honda, was also taken to Southampton General Hospital. He died there in the early hours of January 21.

The driver of the Honda, an 87-year-old woman from Alton, suffered minor injuries.

The occupants of the Hyundai, two men aged 25 and 23 and a 17-year-old boy, all from Portsmouth, suffered minor injuries.

Investigations into the exact circumstances of the collision are ongoing and officers would like to hear from witnesses.
