PLANS to demolish two neighbouring homes in “spacious plots” near Swan Barn Farm, in Haslemere, and build a new development of 23 luxury retirement flats will be determined by a planning inspector.

Renaissance Retirements went to appeal after Waverley planners rejected the scheme for the two-acre site comprising numbers 38 and 40 in Petworth Road, as out of keeping with neighbouring homes.

An informal hearing to help determine the appeal will start at at the council offices in Godalming, at 10am, on Tuesday, January 30.
