AN environmental campaign group has joined a chorus of opposition to the Government's intended changes to the planning system, describing the new set up as a "recipe for chaos".

The South Downs Society, the unofficial 'friends' organisation for the new South Downs National Park, fears that weakening the constraints on new development could lead to acres of new housing across attractive countryside in Sussex and Hampshire.
