HASLEMERE’S mayor, Cllr Simon Dear, has freed a pigeon from the town’s hall.

The fire brigade had been called to help free the pigeon, but were unable to do so.

So Cllr Dear took it upon himself to free the bird.

The pigeon had become stuck on the town hall.

Other pigeons had attempted to help free the bird, but with no success.

The pigeon’s plight had created a buzz on the Haslemere Community Board’s Facebook page, where the hashtag #savethepigeonofhaslemere appeared.

And Cllr Dear came to the rescue to save the pigeon.
