You could say it’s a rotten way to help a very good cause.

But Petersfield Young Farmers (PYF) will prove that where there’s muck, there’s brass, later this month as they’re hitting the road with another Charity Dung Run on Saturday, March 25.

Green-fingered residents in the Petersfield area can do their bit for the garden and good causes by ordering a £5 bag of well-rotten manure from the PYF club.

The boys will be delivering the bags to residents in Petersfield and nearby villages on Saturday March 25, with funds being split between the club and the Hampshire and IOW Air Ambulance.

Gardeners who would like a £5 bag or four for £20 should email their order, full address, postcode and contact number to Gwen Woodruffe at [email protected]

The deadline is 5pm on Sunday, March 19, and a rough delivery time will be given closer to the day once orders have been confirmed and the route calculated.

Payment is by correct cash only upon deliver and should be placed in a sealed envelope with your number and amount clearly written on it. Organisers would like to thank Ashford Farm Turkeys, RM Winscom and JER Dalby & Sons for their help.

Hampshire YFC – of which the Petersfield club is a member – was originally formed in the 1930s to create a social club for young people living in the countryside.

Today, its function is the same – to provide fun for the younger rural community, “the future of the British countryside”.
