BRAMSHOTT and Liphook Parish Council has a vacancy following the resignation of Susie Hooper less than a year after being invited to join.
Mrs Hooper, who sat on the Liphook Millennium Centre management committee, was one of three co-opted councillors after last year’s May elections.
She has cited family and work commitments as the cause for her resignation.
Mrs Hooper (pictured), who lives in Ripley with her husband and three young sons, is a producer for the BBC and ITV.
Statutory notices were posted on April 26, notifying the community and the district council’s returning officer of the vacancy.
A by-election to fill the vacancy will be held if, within 14 days of the notice being issued, 10 electors from the parish give notice in writing claiming an election to the returning officer at East Hampshire District Council.
If no such notice is given, the parish council will fill the vacancy by co-option.
The 14-day period excludes a Saturday or Sunday. The address for the returning officer is: East Hampshire District Council, Penns Place, Petersfield, GU31 4EX.
