PENSIONERS across East Hampshire fear the token scheme which many use to pay for taxis or travel on local community transport for shopping runs and vital medical appointments could be scrapped or seriously curtailed.

Hampshire County Council has been carrying out a consultation survey on how OAPS use their free bus passes as it prepares to take over the running of the scheme from borough and district councils next year.
