Nominees are wanted for the annual Haslemere Volunteer Award Scheme ceremony, honouring residents who have given selflessly to the community.
The medals for the awards were donated by Sir Ray Tindle, the late proprietor of the Herald, and will be presented at the Haslemere Town Council’s annual meeting on Thursday, March 6 at 6pm at Haslemere Museum.
The Haslemere Volunteer Award Scheme is run by volunteers and nominations are being sought for those who have provided help and support to vulnerable members of the community during recent years.
Forms for nominations can be obtained from Fay Foster at [email protected] or by emailing Haslemere Town Council at [email protected]
A panel of independent judges will review the nominations and notify those selected for an award by the end of February.
In its first ceremony since the pandemic in late-April, 2022, the Haslemere Volunteer Award Scheme honoured 12 individuals and one team.
Recipients were recognised for their work as volunteers at Haslemere Museum, the Haslemere Festival, and the Haslemere and District Citizens Advice Bureau, and for their efforts to support the community during the pandemic.
Trio Phil Bates, Colin Dodge, and Charlie Dale were also honoured for their work as volunteers at Haslemere Museum.
