An Alton retirement development is opening its doors to the community this week.

Queen Elizabeth Place Retirement Living development will open its doors from 11am to 4pm today (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday).

Visitors will get mince pies and a glass or two of mulled wine at the free event.

The McCarthy Stone team will also be on hand to give visitors a tour of the development.

All attendees can choose one of the baubles from the Christmas tree to win one of three special prizes – either a festive hamper, a bottle of wine or a Christmas pudding.

Nicki Beswarick, divisional marketing manager for McCarthy Stone Southern, said: “Christmas is the season for bringing everyone together, which is why we’re proud to host our Christmas event for the community at Queen Elizabeth Place. We can’t wait to welcome retirees and their families and raise a glass to celebrate the festive season.”
