IT was a home run for Waverley Mayor Simon Inchbald and his wife Rosie, when they visited their village cricket club

The mayor and mayoress were guests of honour as Chiddingfold Cricket Club celebrated Cricketfest with a junior coaching session (pictured).

Chairman Mike Gleave said: “Councillor Inchbald stressed the importance of community and how pleased he was that so many junior members and their parents were participating in the clubs activities that help to forge strong bonds across the village.

“Our junior cricket co-ordinator Steve Benbough and myself introduced the mayor to coaches and volunteers who help to make Friday evenings a major social event for so many families in the village.”
