A window dressing competition was held in Haslemere over the Platinum Jubilee weekend.

For many years St George’s Day in Haslemere has been celebrated by a window dressing competition organised by the Royal Society of St George’s Haslemere branch. This year it was moved to the Platinum Jubilee weekend.

The competition was divided into retail and non-retail entries, with prizes for each class winner and a cup for the overall winner.

The windows were judged by Haslemere mayor Councillor Jacquie Keen, Haslemere Chamber of Trade and Commerce president Craig McGowan and Royal Society of St George Haslemere branch chairman Nick Hinchliffe.

Judging took place during the week beginning May 30.

The High Street retail category was won by Marley Flowers, the High Street non-retail category was won by The Comrades Club and the Weyhill retail category was won by Eden Hair and Beauty.

The overall winner was Marley Flowers.

Each class winner received two bottles of Roebuck vineyards classic cuvée 2014 English fizz – the overall winner Marley Flowers also received the cup to keep in perpetuity.

The prizes were presented by Cllr Keen as part of the Haslemere Festival’s pageant on Lion Green on Sunday.
