LIPHOOK-based transport consultant Dr John Tough was delighted to see the long-awaited bypass finally open.

The former parish councilllor, who has been involved with the Hindhead tunnel project right from the start, said: "Northbound traffic from Liphook has suffered from considerable delay at Hindhead for many years and particularly since the A3 Petersfield-Liphook scheme was opened in 1992."
