THE countdown has begun - and it is just one more week before Liphook holds its 113th Carnival next Saturday.
The carnival is the biggest community event in the village, attracting thousands of visitors on the night.
The procession is open for anyone to take part, with no need to pre-register.
Celebrations start at 11am with the children's fancy dress and pumpkin carving competition at Liphook Junior School, Avenue Close. Categories range from age two and under, age three to five, age six and over to groups of two or more children of any age.
Floats and all participants will be assembling in Longmoor Road, by 5.30pm ready to entertain the crowds.
The night kicks off with the crowning of Carnival Queen Chloe Tapp by East Hampshire District Council leader, Ferris Cowper, at 6.45pm in The Square, followed by the procession at 7pm, which will make it's way down Portsmouth Road, along Station Road, Midhurst Road, returning back into The Square, along Headley Road and back into Longmoor Road via The Avenue.
The annual bonfire and fireworks event is at Radford Park, from 8.30pm.
