A LEADING Liberal Democrat has given a damning indictment of Hampshire County Council's budget meeting and proposals to enforce £55m cuts and axe 1,200 jobs.

Adam Carew said the Government grant to Hampshire County Council had been cut by £25million – not £55million as the ruling group claimed – leaving £30m in "cuts of Tory choice".
