LIPHOOK’S annual Carnival Walk is setting off from The Deer’s Hut on Sunday, raising money for the big event at the end of October.

Last year’s walk attracted more than 50 participants, raising in excess of £1,150 towards the cost of running the village’s annual carnival.

Organised by Rob and Alison Harris Dibben, different routes are planned each year with short, medium and long walks, covering three, five and 10 miles, to choose from.

Refreshments are provided at various checkpoints along the way and children as well as dogs are welcome to take part.

All routes start and finish at the Griggs Green pub and there is an added incentive to get sponsorship with organisers offering a prize for the highest sponsorship obtained, which will be announced and presented on the day.

Walkers will depart from The Deer’s Hut at 9.45am on the day, who will be offering bacon rolls, tea and coffee before the walk - in exchange for a donation, with all proceeds going to fund the carnival.

Registration opens at 9am in the pub’s garden pavillion, entry is £7 per adult, £3.50 for under 16s and free for anyone under six years or anyone sponsored for an amount over the entry fee.

Sponsorship forms can be obtained in advance or on the day from the pub by calling (01428) 724406. Download them at www.liphookcarnival.org.uk
