GRAYSHOTT shops and businesses are coming together to hold the village’s first late night shopping evening on Thursday (December 2).

More than 30 businesses will be open, offering not only the chance to shop for gifts and clothes but also an opportunity to visit two car showrooms and try a range of restaurants and bars. Free parking will be available.

Surrey Oaks Wealth Management will be providing complimentary mulled wine and mince pies from its office on Crossways Road by the war memorial.

Grayshott’s Christmas lights on the village greens and along Headley Road, including 1,000 metres of new lights, were officially turned on yesterday (Saturday).

Shops have also signed up to take part in Grayshott Parish Council’s window display competition, Dressing up for Christmas.

Take a stroll through the village to help the council judge the best festive display. Voting for the competition will open on Monday, December 6 and will close on Monday, December 20.

Shops opening late on Crossways Road on Thursday include: Simply Vintage, the Bayleaf, Grayshott Post Office, Surrey Oaks Wealth Management, Everybodies Beauty, Zaman Opticians, Shep’s, and Grayshott Antiques.

The emporium at Grayshott Pottery will be open until 9pm.

Shops opening late on Headley Road include: Ginger Star, Mike Wheeler, Adrian Blyth, Eliza Wray, Bells & Whistles, Hill & Co, Grayshott Wine Company, Homes Estate Agents, the Gurkha Durbar, Sainsbury’s, the Famous Chef, Signature Kitchens, Grayshott Kebab House, Frankie’s Fish and Chips, Safari Barber, Pins and Needles, Warren Powell-Richards, Grayshott Dry Cleaners, American Nails, the Tantum Trust Charity Shop, DVD Card Shop, Co-op, Phyllis Tuckwell Charity Shop, and the Fox and Pelican.
