SOUTH West Surrey MP Jeremy Hunt visited Haslemere’s new co-working space on Monday.
HasleWorks is a new initiative devised by a team of local residents in response to a growing need for workspace close to home.
Mr Hunt was taken on a tour of the newly-refurbished building at 2-4 Petworth Road, that has been adapted to enable at least 30 people at any one time to work comfortably together and efficiently.
Visitors will have a choice of either working at a large open table or in quieter zones and have access to acoustic phone booths for privacy, and to meeting rooms and a seating area.
Helen Bowcock, co-founder of HasleWorks, said: “We were delighted to welcome Jeremy to HasleWorks, and know that as a successful entrepreneur himself he values initiatives like this one.
“Our market research indicates there are many people who live locally who welcome the flexibility a local co-working space offers and also the social contact and networking it will provide.”
HasleWorks is set to open in the coming months, and those who have expressed an interest in the initiative will be contacted to arrange a visit.
