A CALL has gone out for Silver Surfers to log in to a drop-in computer clinic especially designed for older people.
A community project, the monthly workshops held at the Haslewey Community Centre in Wey Hill, Haslemere, aim to educate, train and support elderly and vulnerable people on how to access the internet, use social media and emails.
Run by a service provider which gives IT support to small businesses and individuals, PAAC IT is hoping to encourage more people to support its regular workshops, which began last year.
A PAAC IT spokesmasn said: “We are relaunching this initiative to help and reach out to more people, who otherwise may never know this resource is available to them.”
Run on the first Friday of every month from 9.30am to 11am, the computer and mobile device workshop includes a different topic taught with group guidance and open discussion each month.
While appropriate for the elderly and vulnerable it is open to all. The first session begins on Friday April 6 and costs £3 with all monies going directly to support the centre.
lTo book call the centre manager on (01428) 648716.
