A survey that could shape the future of Petersfield’s green spaces has been launched – and your feedback is vital.
An important delivery will be made next week as people who receive a copy of The Directory will find a flyer for the Petersfield Green Spaces People Survey inside.
Recipients will find a QR code to a short online survey with feedback being used to influence decisions and policies for assets like the Heath, play areas and street trees.
The Petersfield Society has launched the survey with support from the town council while a grant from Waitrose has gone towards its promotional costs.
“We’re keen to understand how people use Petersfield’s parks and green spaces, what they value the most, and what improvements they would like to see,” said Dr Andy Moffat of the group’s Green Infrastructure Group.
“By asking every household to take part, we anticipate the results of the survey to be representative of the Petersfield community as a whole.”

Residents without a computer or smartphone can take part by contacting the Society while all participants will have a chance of winning a £25 John Lewis Gift Card.
The survey should only take a few minutes to complete with around a dozen questions on a sliding scale.
It can be completely anonymously while data will not be shared with other agencies or commercial companies.
Jacob Gibson, PTC Ranger, is looking forward to getting feedback as the town council is responsible for managing many of Petersfield’s “amazing spaces”.
He said: “One of my goals is to engage regularly with as many residents as possible and ensure the land is being managed to a gold-standard both for people and nature.”
People have until May 17 to complete the survey at https://www.petersfieldsociety.org.uk with the results being published in autumn.
