Hayling Island’s most famous singer, Julia Fordham, will appear alongside Beverley Craven, Judie Tzuke and Rumer when their Woman To Woman tour rolls into G-Live at Guildford on November 4 at 7.30pm.

Julia, now living in California, had a UK hit in 1988 with Happy Ever After, which also reached number one in Japan.

Beverley Craven is best known for her beautiful piano-led song Promise Me which reached number three in the British chart in 1991 and earned her the Best Newcomer prize in the 1992 Brit Awards.

Judie Tzuke has released more than 30 albums over the last 40 years and reached number 16 with her 1979 single Stay With Me Till Dawn.

Rumer, whose voice has been described as reminiscent of Karen Carpenter, saw her 2010 debut Seasons Of My Soul climb to number three on the UK album chart and give her a MOJO Award for Best Breakthrough Act.

The quartet have released the single Humankind, an environmental rock/pop anthem with a sobering and thought-provoking video which highlights the devastating effect of human behaviour on the planet.

Beverley said: “When Jude played us the demo on her phone both Jules and I were struck by how this beautiful song could carry such a powerful message.”

This is the second Woman To Woman tour, named after another of Beverley’s hits, and it would have happened sooner but for coronavirus.

Beverley added: “Judie, Julia and myself are genuinely the best of mates, and we missed each other so much during those isolating months of the pandemic.

“That precious time together, performing live on stage, was something that we all pined for, so getting back on the road to meet our fans with a second Woman To Woman tour was a no-brainer. When Rumer agreed to join us too it was the icing on the cake.”
