STUDENTS at Bohunt School swapped their uniforms for bowler hats and suits to perform their production of Guys and Dolls to packed audiences.

Over three nights, the students’ acting, dancing and singing brought the classic musical to life, with Hannah Burges performing as Adelaide, Joe Standing playing Nathan Detroit, Kate Downing as Sister Sarah, Theo Yeghnazar as Sky Materson, Emile Brunet performing Nicely Nicely, Ben Sellers as Benny, and Joe Weaver as Big Jule.

The cast demonstrated exceptional talent and brought energy and dynamism to the musical.

The expressive arts department at the Liphook school, which is sponsored by Bohunt Education Trust, worked tirelessly with a talented group of students to achieve a memorable production of the American classic.

Performances were enhanced by an orchestra and both students and staff learnt a complex and a diverse range of numbers, showing skill and passion along the way.

Carly Du Fe, head of music and expressive arts at Bohunt School, said: “I am so proud of the high standards that staff and students have achieved with their Guys and Dolls production.

The band was made up of mostly students, with a student crew running backstage, lighting and sound. The cast took control and performed like west end stars, giving it their all every night.”

Headteacher Neil Strowger, who is also chief executive of Bohunt Education Trust, added: "We are immensely proud of our students for the dedication, enthusiasm and commitment they have thrown at the Guys and Dolls production.

“Every night the performance was a real success and reflective of all the hard work of both the students and staff. We are already looking forward to next year.”
