A CONTROVERSIAL application for a hot food and drinks licence for a mobile van to be stationed in Portsmouth Road, Liphook, has been granted permission by East Hampshire District Council's sub-licensing committee.
The application was made by Haci Ali Karaduman, from Midhurst, for a mobile takeaway van to be parked in the lay-by just off The Square, serving hot food and drinks – but no alcohol – from 5pm-11.30pm, Sundays to Thursdays, and from 5pm to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
A similar mobile hot food and drinks van was stationed in the Portsmouth Road lay-by several years ago.
