A Grayshott man has written his first book.

Through a Fractured Door, by Colin Mellor, is the tale of a youngster born in the 1950s who finds reading difficult.

Colin – who has lived in Grayshott since 1987 – was in his mid-50s when he was diagnosed with dyslexia 20 years ago. Some of his early life experiences have been woven into the story.

The book has been typeset specifically to help dyslexic readers.

Colin said: “With this story I hope to illustrate to everyone, including those living with, or suffering from, dyslexia, as I do, some of its idiosyncrasies.

“Dyslexia can affect far more than reading and writing and still appears to be widely misunderstood today. Many normal everyday tasks we perform without a second thought can be affected.”
