GIRLS at St Ives School in Haslemere enjoyed golf lessons and a fun assembly when they were joined by professionals from Hindhead Golf Club.

The children were taught about the history of the club – founded in 1904 by Sherlock Holmes creator, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and a small group of golfing enthusiasts - as well as receiving a demonstration from the professionals and a chance to have a go themselves.

Teaching professional Chris Reed is pictured giving the girl some tips on playing the game.
