LIPHOOK-based charity ‘Dreams Come True’ will be a joint beneficiary of Haslemere Fringe Festival 2016, which will run from July 1-3.

Festival chairman Ken Griffiths said: “This is a wonderful national charity that works hard to make dreams come true for children and young people, aged between two and 21 years old, with serious and life-threatening conditions.

“Fulfilling their dream can help them think beyond their illness or disability and focus on something more positive, thereby creating amazing experiences and memories for the entire family.

“We are determined the 2016 Fringe will raise much-needed funds and, indeed, awareness, for this very worthwhile cause.”

The biennial family-friendly event organised by members of the local community, attracts thousands of visitors across the “Three Counties” and beyond,

It received a glowing accolade from comedian Ade Edmondson, lead singer of The Bad Shepherds, who said after performing at the 2014 Fringe: “We’ve just done Glastonbury, but the Haslemere Fringe is so much better.”

The festival will feature alternative and popular music, dance, drama, arts and crafts, performance poetry and Comedy Clubs, with rising young talents given a platform.
