LIPHOOK in Bloom stalwarts, together with several new members, turned out to tidy the village flower beds to launch the start of the new “blooming” year.
As well as a general tidy up, two new mountain ash trees were planted along Station Road – one red and the other pink, close to the Cancer Research charity shop.
It was a good turnout for the first working party of the season, but Liphook in Bloom are still anxious for more help and volunteers to join the team.
Following the success of last year’s wildflower bed on the Millennium Green, they have been given permission by Bramshott and Liphook Parish Council to replant and maintain its flower beds, as well as extend the wildflower area.
In addition they will remove old shrubs in beds along Canada Way and replant with new and better ones, closer to the verge, to prevent cars from parking along the road.
