A SOGGY Shrove Tuesday did nothing to dampen the spirits of competitors in the Grayshott pancake race. And despite the weather, half-term meant a good turnout from youngsters for the race around The Square.
John Howard, of Grayshott's Co-op store, repeated his win from last year to retain the Golden Frying Pan.
Certificates were awarded to other runners in individual and business categories, although there were no heats run this year because of the wet weather.
The event was organised by the Grayshott Square Group and Grayshott Parish Council, and was one of the last for the community before refurbishment work starts on the village square.
