A SHAKE-UP in the operations at West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service will mean the loss of a fire engine based at Midhurst, after the county approved £1.6m cuts to the service last week.

But the authority's member for residents' services, Lionel Barnard, who has responsibility for fire and rescue, said the decision was not "just about money".
Councillor Barbard said the review would "create a fire service that is fit for the 21st Century and will meet the needs of West Sussex residents now and in the future".
