COST-cutting moves to reduce 15 top jobs at East Hampshire District Council and Havant Borough Council by more than a third have been branded "the beginning of the end of East Hampshire District Council as we know it".

A district council spokesman denied that would be the case this week as the council found itself unexpectedly having to take its plans back to the table at a meeting at the authority's headquarters next week.
