Hampshire Hospitals’ elective surgery hub has been given the green light and building work at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester will now begin.
It will allow 2,400 more hip and knee replacement operations to take place every year, reducing the elective surgery backlog across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, when it opens in April next year.
The plans were approved at the Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust board meeting on February 15.
