AMANDA Clack, head of strategic consulting at real estate giant CBRE Group Inc and a former president of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, thrilled Royal Senior School students with an inspirational talk about her career and some of the high-profile projects she has been involved with, notably London’s Shard and ‘Cheese Grater’ skyscrapers.

During her talk, the final Royal Lecture of the year, she told pupils how she became interested in surveying through her interest in Lego and construction as a child.

Lower sixth form student Rihannon said: “Amanda’s work has enabled her to consult for the UK Government and host people such as the Prime Minister of China.

“We are very grateful for her giving up her time to speak to us, especially the extended Q&A session, in which she fielded many questions from a fascinated audience.”
