HOLLYCOMBE Primary School’s annual sports day took place in glorious sunshine under blue skies before the end of the summer term, last month.

The day was filled with a variety of athletics events and activities for all children to complete.

Earning points for their house teams were Arum, Rother, Wey and Levant, while the School Cup was awarded to team Wey, this year’s winning house.

Parents were able to join their children for a picnic lunch in the field before the afternoon events began, when they participated in more races, jumping hurdles, standing jump as well as long distance races and a tug of war.

This year, the ladies outshone the men by winning the parents sports events.

Headteacher Louise Pearce commented on the excellent sportsmanship of all the children as well as the adults.
