HAVING successfully achieved her mission of getting The Ark nursery and pre-school afloat Helen Jackson has handed over the leadership to Alison Jackson and Ruth Grove, who are both qualified and experienced primary school teachers.
Acting as joint heads – everything goes in twos at The Ark – they have been involved in the venture, based at the Church Centre, in Portsmouth Road, Liphook since it opened last October – and have job shared at Liphook Infant school in the recent past. Helen told The Herald: “Their knowledge, faith and experience will ensure The Ark remains in the very best of hands.”
Alison has already added a new feature, a willow walk, to the outdoor play area, complete with sound wall and a den, which the children love to play in.
She said: “I made an application for a £200 grant from community kick start through the Breeze radio station, and they came back before Easter and told us that we could have it.
“This spring we are developing the outdoor learning area, growing vegetables, runner beans, as well as beds of flowers.
“Both Ruth and I would like to thank Helen for her ongoing support as a trustee and also for making this a very special place.”
