A HEAD dog warden has spelled out the consequences of Liphook's parish council adopting its own dog control orders.
East Hampshire District Council's environmental protection officer, Dave Griffiths, met with Peter Stanley, the acting parish clerk, to discuss the legislation and guidance for introducing the orders after Bramshott and Liphook Parish Council voted to adopt powers to force dog owners to clean up after their pets.
The move follows numerous complaints about dog fouling around the green at the Millennium Hall and on the London Road recreation ground.
In at letter to the clerk sent after the meeting, Mr Griffiths stated that although EHDC would support the parish council in any decision made, the district council would have no enforcement responsibility for any control orders introduced by the parish.
