EAST Hampshire District Council has issued a draft of its Local Plan for housing and employment allocation ahead of a six-week public consultation which begins next week.

The council's joint core strategy, adopted in June, is the master planning policy document, setting out the strategy for the district's future development up until 2018. It was prepared and examined to comply with the National Planning Policy Framework requirements brought in by the coalition Government.

The jont core strategy identifies the overall economic, social and environmental objectives and the amount, type and broad location of development needed to fulfil them.
