GLORIOUS sunshine and high temperatures greeted participants of the 24th LiDBA charity bike ride, which started and finished at the Bohunt Centre on Sunday. Some 1,093 riders took part – 925 in the main 25-mile ride while 168 intrepid juniors flocked to the school's sports fields. A total of 53 charities and ogranisations entered teams raising money for their own particular good cause. The total number of riders was up on last year's figures of 1,052, raising £55,019 in the process – making a grand total of £921,293 generated over the last 23 years. Figures for this year's charity ride will be known in the autumn, when Liphook and District Businessmen's Association make their presentation to the charities and organisations they support.
