UNCOSTED plans have been drawn up to replace or refurbish a run-down toilet block at a Petersfield beauty spot.

An architect with links to the town has drawn up rough plans to reconfigure the public conveniences at Heath Pond.

Drawings for a new block have also been produced by the AWW architect with councillors keen on incorporating a changing places toilet into either final design.

The architect is related to a town council worker but has produced the work for free as a gift to Petersfield.

Town councillors will be asked this Thursday, November 23, if they want PTC to approach a quantity surveyor to get an estimate on the cost of either design.

The architect has given no indication of possible costings but town clerk Neil Hitch has confirmed there is money available to proceed if a surveyor is approached.

“We’ve come to the time when something needs to be done so I think getting costings for both of them would be a good idea,” said Cllr Lesley Farrow last Thursday.

She made the comments following an aborted grounds committee meeting, which was cancelled because only two councillors attended.
