THIS year's Liphook Carnival princess has been named.

Alice Shires will be accompanied by her attendants Ellen Meekin and Niamh McCloud.

The girls will be joining Carnival Queen Megan Lewis on her royal float at the head of the procession at the annual extravaganza in October.

Carnival committee chairman Karen Feeney said: "We are very happy with the choice. All the girls are delightful and confident that they will be able to cope with several hours of smiling and waving at crowds on a cold evening in October.

"They are delighted to be given the honour and are looking forward to join this year's queen Megan Lewis on the big night."
